Were does a "Database" stop, and an "Applications" begin?

Well, there one and the same here. Traditionally, databases were mostly storage areas with some form of add/edit/deletes.

Now... it's endless. Although we work with databases every day, we tend to put the focus on the application/workflow side of things.

• Access Control Lists (ACL), with users, groups and roles (and web and public, etc.)
  
• Agents: Which can run automatic tasks and events, can greatly improve efficiency and data integrity.
• Intelligence, forms can be designed to be extremely effective now. (look-ups, smart messages)
• Interface Design, and functional design goes a longs way.
